I have chosen this photo for a couple of reasons.

1. What if there were never any world wars?
2. What would the world be today if all these souls were spared?

The possibilities are endless….

They have named the road in their honour ”Rue de victimes de la guerre”.

Countless white crosses

  1. You’re right, the possibilities would be endless.

  2. Robin says:

    Very appropriate

  3. Jo Bryant says:

It is a sobering thought – of all the possibilities lost because they are lost to us – who knows what they could have done in this world.

  4. dadirri7 says:

so true, all lost through war, and those crosses speaking to us of the possibility of finding a better way to resolve disputes – thank you

  5. Northern Narratives says:

Certainly makes a person think about all the lost possibilities … great post!

  6. jakesprinter says:

    Very Solemn picture.

  7. Intriguing interpretation.

  8. Maggie says:

Very interesting. Also really good job framing the picture.

  9. Cheryl Velez says:

That’s an interesting sentiment, but if you flip that coin, you might find yourself asking: What would the world be like if those heros didn’t fight for what they believed in? The United States, for example, would still be a colony of Britain and countless tyrants would still be ruling through terror and fear.

    May they rest in peace.
